Sisley Italian Kitchen is one of many restaurants located in Victoria Gardens,
some good, some not so good. Fortunately for us, Sisley is a winner. The interior
is large, the tables have nice granite table tops, and the citrus Tuscany colored
walls is the perfect setting for a most memorable meal. Best of all, you usually
don’t have to wait hours for a table. I like that!!!

The menu is enormous featuring an array of traditional as well as original Italian
dishes. The portions are very large and everything is made fresh on the
premises. If you have children under 12, believe it or not, children under 12 eat
FREE, (Monday –Thursday), with a paid adult dinner entrée. What a deal!

For starters, my party and I started with the Fritto Misto $16.95 and the Goat
Cheese Pizza $15.25. The Fritto Misto consisted of lots of crispy breaded fried
calamari, shrimp and jumbo scallops. The breading was light and perfectly
seasoned while the calamari, shrimp and scallops were tender and succulent. A
“cool lime cilantro” dipping sauce was served with the seafood items but it was
too mild for my taste. The Goat Cheese Pizza was a nice 10” brick oven baked
pizza topped with red and green bell peppers, onions, sun-dried tomatoes,
marinara sauce and mozzarella as well as goat cheese. The combination of
flavors and textures made for a perfect marriage of ingredients resulting in a very
good pizza.

Next came the unique Chicken & Butternut Squash Pasta $15.95, the impressive
Linguini & Clams $17.50 and the Salmon Dolce Caldo $19.25. The Chicken &
Butternut Squash Pasta featured grilled pieces of butternut squash sautéed with
chicken and onions with fusilli pasta. The dish was delicious especially when
fresh Parmesan cheese was added. I love clams and the linguini & clams were
also a real hit with me and my dinner guests. Imagine a huge deep pasta serving
bowl filled with linguini, fresh clams and pieces of clam swimming in a delicious
red clam sauce with shallots, white wine, oregano, basil and garlic. As great as
this dish was, the next entree also won us over. This dish starts off with a large
grilled salmon filet placed upon a delicate buttery sweet & spicy avocado sauce
with pieces of fresh avocado and fresh asparagus spears. The salmon had nice
crispy exterior while the interior was as moist and tender as salmon can get and
the buttery avocado sauce nicely complimented the salmon.

For those who like family style dining, there are seven family platters to choose
from like Tri Tip Roast and Shrimp Scampi to Italian Sausages over linguini and
the next dish, that was our favorite dish of the evening, the Whole Roasted
Seasoned Chicken $25.95. This simple and comforting dish featured a large, and
I mean large roasted chicken served on top of roasted potatoes, onions, celery
and carrots. The chicken was delicious as were the slowly cooked vegetables.
This dish reminded me when as a child; my family would go to my grandmother’s
house on a Friday night and have one great home made dinner, similar to this
chicken dish. The dish can easily feed 3 to 4 people and should not be
overlooked.

Sisley also serves some decadent homemade desserts, offer a Country Saturday
and Sunday Brunch and have a full well stocked bar and nice wine list.
Dining at Sisley Italian Kitchen was a very pleasurable experience for me and my
friends and family that joined me for dinner. The food was fresh and tasty, the
ambiance was relaxing and soothing and the prices were in line with the quality of
food that was served. I look forward to dining there again and sampling the rest
of their appealing menu.
