Le Bellissimo has a great reputation for their impeccable French dishes but now
they have added some outstanding Italian dishes that are some of the finest that I
have ever experienced. After all, having a French trained chef creating wonderful
Southern Italian/ French Rivera dishes is a dream come true for us “foodies” who
appreciate exciting tasting food.

The new Italian dishes are available in one half or full size portions but be
warned! The half portions of pasta are a whopping 16 ounces while the full size
portions of pasta are, get this, 22 ounces. Not only are the portions large, but the
food is nicely presented, delicious and priced very fairly. On Monday &
Tuesdays, all pasta dishes are only $10.00.
You cannot get a better value
anywhere!!!!!

For starters, I tried the Toast Sampler $8.25, slices of toasted baguette slices
topped with three toppings; goat cheese & basil pesto, a delicious sun dried
tomato, fresh basil and garlic bruschetta and warm Brie cheese drizzled with light
yet tangy fruity raspberry vinaigrette. All three toppings were excellent and was a
sensational beginning for what was to come. The Roasted Fresh Artichoke
Bottom $8.25, four roasted artichoke bottoms topped with a mushroom, shallot,
bacon, and gorgonzola mixture was also an excellent choice.

The first set of entrees featured the Lasagna al Forno, the Bistro Pasta and the
Garlic Shrimp & Clams Pasta. All three items were $14.95. The lasagna was a
sight to behold!. Imagine a huge portion (both in height and size) of homemade
lasagna topped with a rich and boldly flavored thick marinara sauce. The lasagna
featured layers of lasagna pasta with a creamy and fluffy ricotta cheese mixture
with eggs, cream, garlic and parsley, ground beef, and parmesan & mozzarella
cheese. This was, without a doubt the best lasagna I have ever had and the
portion was enough for two meals. The Bistro Pasta consisted of a one pound of
pasta with a great Italian sausage with fennel, succulent shrimp, bell peppers,
onions, mushroom & garlic tossed with a stunning creamy tomato sauce. This
dish was a tremendous success. Rounding out the first order was the Garlic
Shrimp & Clams with a delicious Chardonnay garlic clam sauce with more
succulent shrimp and fresh clams.

Yearning for more, I then ordered the Chicken Parmesan $16.95 and from the
French side of the menu, I just had to try the popular Steak au Poivre $18.95.
When the Chicken Parmesan arrived, my eyeballs almost jumped out of their
sockets. Rather than a puny ordinary chicken breast (most of whom come frozen
and breaded), this classic Italian dish featured a huge chicken breast that was
butterflied, marinated and then pan fried with panko bread crumbs until crispy.
The chicken breast was then topped with that marvelous thick marinara sauce,
fresh basil and mozzarella cheese and baked until the cheese was hot and
bubbly. The result was an incredible rendition of Chicken Parmesan that all
restaurants serving it should copy. Pasta and fresh sautéed vegetables came
with the entrée. The French classic, Steak au Poivre, was the second “eye-
popping” entrée of the evening. Imagine a large stack of crunchy, perfectly
seasoned thin cut French fries topped with a nice size flat rib eye steak rubbed
generously with cracked peppercorns, sautéed in butter and served with an
unbelievably great green peppercorn cream sauce.  All three entrees were
memorable and should not be overlooked!

Another favorite dish I have had on numerous occasions and enjoyed very much
was the Lamb Chops, $23.95, four thick meaty lamb chops sautéed in butter then
roasted with a tasty pesto crust and served with a potato cheese gratin, fresh
vegetables and a stunning reduced red wine honey balsamic vinegar sauce.

As you can tell from this review, I adore this restaurant and with the addition of
more Italian dishes with lowered prices, there is no reason why you should not
drive here right not and enjoy one memorable meal in a relaxed yet elegant
setting, There have a full bar, numerous meeting and banquet rooms and feature
live music Thursday – Saturdays. I can’t say enough about Le Bellissimo and
hope you too will dine at one of the true culinary jewels in the Inland Empire
dining scene.
